Nicolas Ruiz

Funeral Mass for Nicolas Ruiz, Sr., 90, of Childress, Texas, was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father John Sudhakar Sangabathini presiding. Interment followed at Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. A Rosary was recited on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Ruiz passed from this life on March 25, 2024, in Childress.

Nicolas was born on Dec.6, 1933,in San Felipe Guanajuato, Mexico to Genovevo Ruiz and Virginia (Carranco) Ruiz. He married Maria Dominguez on Nov. 18, 1952, in Mexico. From this union, they had 12 children.

Mr. Ruiz was known as a hardworking and family man. He worked as a farm and ranch hand for Ricky Husband, Shawn Garrison and Clay Morris. He showed the values of family and respect from the youngest to the oldest kids and grandchildren.He loved family gatherings with his kids and grandchildren. Some of his favorite past times were playing poker, playing dominoes and drinking coffee. Nicolas also enjoyed landscaping, especially his own yard. He was very particular when it came to his yard and would never let anyone help landscape it. He had a great love for his children,grandchildren, great-grandchildren, greatgreat grandchildren, sons-inlaw and daughters-in-law.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, son Miguel Ruiz, his children, Eric and wife Rachel, Felix and wife Cady, Luis and Daniel, and great-grandchildren Alex, McKenna, Owen, Dylon, Dakota and Abigail; son Victor and wife Altagracia Ruiz, his children, Victor and wife Josefina, Ricardo and wife Isabel, and Socorro and husband Martin, and great-grandchildren Virginia, Manuel, Nayeli, Alfredo, Karina, Marisol, Esmeralda, Berenice, Ricardo, Elisabeth, Juan, Andrea and Martin; daughter Rosario and husband Felipe Villegas, her children, Jesus and wife Maria, Felix, Eujenia, Veronica and husband Danny, Primitivo and wife Monica,Andres and Ruben, and his great-grandchildren, Vanesa, Miranda, Erasmo, Felix Jr., Osvaldo, Noel, Maximino, Samantha, Jose, Anahi, Felipe, Diego, Vivianna, Maddie and Valeria, and his great-great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Max, Jaziel, Alani, Mateo, Analia and Azalea; son Juan and wife Maria Ruiz; son Albino Ruiz and daughter Thalia; son Jesus and wife Mary Helen Ruiz, his children, Jessica and husband Noel, Jennifer and husband Sammy, Jessie and wife Betty, and his great-grandchildren, Brysen, Brynlee, Jaylyn and Brayden; daughter Esther and husband Manuel Mendez and her children, Maribel and husband Felix and son Manuel; daughter Marisol; son Marcos and granddaughter Sophia; son Nicolas and wife Manuela Ruiz, his children, Mayra and husband Edwin, Nicolas, Alex and wife Mirka, Stephanie, Eduardo, Emiliano, and his great-great-grandchildren, Estevan, Eden and Xenia; and his daughter, Josefina and husband Juan Duran,and her children, Johnny, Roy and Joselyn.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria De Jesus Dominguez-Ruiz; three sons, Santos Ruiz, Leopoldo Ruiz and Juan Ruiz,and his parents.
